Update: Ramp Railing Lights Wiring and Timer

I just wanted to update all of you on this project.

Timm Gast was able to install the new timer this week and clean up the wiring that was visible on the hallway ceiling. The wiring from the timer is now armored so should be much safer if someone were to accidentally strike it with something sharp. We have not added the additional outlet as of this time that was noted below, but if we eventually address the other wiring issues in the furnace room lighting, we can take a look at that then. Please thank Timm the next time you see him for picking up the new timer and the great wiring improvements in this area!

The new timer has 21 possible programs and can come on at daylight or daybreak automatically based on known sunrise and sunset times for this longitude and latitude. We have programmed the lights to come on at dusk and go off at 10pm for now.  If anyone would like the timing to be different, please let us know.   This timer also allows the lights to be turned on manually with the push of a button.  If they are forgotten in the manual state (turned on in the morning but forgot to turn off) then the normal program will turn time off at 10pm, even if they were set on manually. So program values will override manual settings. But, with the push of a button, they can still be turned off (if they are on) or on (if they are off) manually at any time without affecting the programming. Pretty simple to use

If you get time tomorrow, I encourage the trustees to glance at this new setup. The instructions are posted above the timer if anyone would like to learn more about it.

Thanks!

David
